When people ask me where I’m from, I tend to struggle with my answer. I was born in Southern California but bounced around the country quite a bit while growing up. My dad worked in railroad construction, so when one project would end, my parents would move my three siblings and I to the next one. By the time I started middle school in Fort Worth, my family had lived in seven different states.
No matter where we lived, my parents always made it a priority to find a church home, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. Despite growing up in the church, however, I never really understood the truth of the gospel until the summer before my freshman year of high school. The Lord placed several friends in my life who poured into me and helped me realize exactly what Christ had done for me. I was baptized that summer in the Red River while on a mission trip to New Mexico, and I’ve been following Jesus ever since.
I married my high school sweetheart, Monica, while in college, and we have been at The Village since I became an intern on the Communications team in 2018. In 2019, I came on staff full-time as a Copywriter. I love to use the gifts God has given me to serve the local church.
Hope for The Village Church
My hope is that we would be a church that faithfully proclaims the gospel while we love people in our neighborhoods, in our city, and around the world.
