Life Story

Some of my fondest memories have to do with where I spent my childhood, a west Tennessee town about forty miles north of Memphis. Burlison is where I lived the first 15 years of my life, riding shotgun with my mom around our family farm, watching dad coach Friday night football under the lights and exploring the forest behind my grandmother’s house. Life was slow and full.

The Lord saved me during my junior year of high school, amidst me trying to earn His love. For the first time ever, I was overwhelmed with the weight of my sin and believed that Christ had lifted that weight off of me and that I was free—free from performance and free to be loved by the Father. The Lord opened the eyes of my heart, and I still vividly remember feeling overcome with the joy of realizing that, in Christ, I was beloved by the Father and nothing I had done, either good or bad, could change that.

I graduated from the University of Memphis in 2015 with a degree in History. During this time, my family experienced many difficult circumstances, including disappointment, infidelity and death. These experiences were very challenging for me to navigate, and I often felt alone and abandoned by the Lord. However, in His kindness, He brought me to The Village in the Fall of 2016 and quickly turned my mourning into singing.

God has been so faithful to me during my time at The Village to restore what was broken and to redeem what was lost. My life has been marked in significant way by the people of The Village, and I am very blessed to be a part of this people.

Hope for The Village Church

My hope for The Village is that we would be a people who love and glorify God for His grace and kindness to us through the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope that we would grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ, while using the gifts He has given us to bless those around us, and that we would be a place for the brokenhearted to be healed.
