Northway Training

Encounter Jesus. Engage the Scriptures. Embody the Greatest Commandment. 

Northway Church will offer the following classes this fall. Each class will combine teaching, small group discussion and outside reading and assignments. 

Completing an application does not guarantee you a spot in a class, as spots are limited. You can expect to hear back within two weeks of submitting your application. 

Child care will be available for children ages birth–2. The cost is $50 per child, with a maximum family expense of $100.

Wednesday nights will include ministry events for the whole family. Compass Kids will be available for children ages 3–5th grade, and Rally will be available for 6th–12th grade students.

Intro to the New Testament + Gospels

Wednesdays, 6 p.m. – 7:20 p.m., August 21 – November 20

This class will provide a general introduction and overview of the New Testament with a focus on historical background and structure of the four Gospels. Participants will spend the majority of the class in Matthew to grow in understanding of biblical theology and literary themes.

Biblical Counseling I

Wednesdays, 6 p.m. – 7:20 p.m., August 21 – November 20

This class will provide a general introduction to the theological and practical foundations for biblical counseling. Participants will learn what the Bible says about our problems, our hearts and our hope for salvation and sanctification through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Christ + Culture I

Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. – 8:50 p.m., August 21 – November 20

This class will provide a general introduction to essential social, intellectual and theological questions of today. Why do Christians take the Bible seriously? Can science and meaningful faith coexist? Do Christians believe the world is getting worse? How should men and women understand ourselves independently and in relationship to one another? Is the Christian sexual ethic too narrow? What is God’s purpose and design for marriage?

Steps

Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. – 8:50 p.m., August 21 – November 20

Steps is an intensive discipleship process that practically applies the hope of the gospel to the struggles and suffering of daily life. Participants will learn how God’s story of redemption transforms their own stories to bring salvation and life change through Jesus Christ.

Women’s Bible Class (Morning)

Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., September 10 – November 19

This class will walk verse by verse through the first half of Acts, providing a place to learn in community with other women about how God has built and empowered His Church to participate in bringing the kingdom of God to earth.

Cost: $30

Leaders: Kelsey Hency, Jeanne Damoff & Liz Griswold 

Child care will be available for children ages birth–6 for an additional cost of $50.

Women’s Bible Class (Evening)

Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. – 8:50 p.m., September 11 – November 20
