The Garretts' Story
Nathan and Brittany Garrett are serving as church planters with a team from SEND International to spread the gospel. The southern part of Romania is one of the least-reached areas in Europe, and the Garretts feel called to these unreached people groups. For the first few years, they will work to learn the language, and then the Garretts’ goal is to train up pastors within the local church and send them out. They also hope to join a soccer ministry already established there.
The Garretts encourage anyone who wants to visit on a short-term trip to do so.
Romania borders the Black Sea in Europe. Its capital, Bucharest, is the sixth largest city in Europe. Romania’s main exports are petroleum products and heavy machinery. The Orthodox Church dominates society—87% of the population.
