TVC Responsibilities:
I develop and give direction and oversight of weekday, weekend, and special event childcare. I disciple, develop, and care for the TVC Childcare team.
When and how did the Lord save you?
In June 1991, I attended VBS at Culleoka Baptist Church, where I heard for the first time that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. At 7, I was certain that Jesus was real, that I was a sinner, and that Jesus had come to be the Savior whom I needed. I trusted Jesus as my Savior that day.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
My husband and I actually visited twice in 2009, and I said, “Absolutely not.” I’m still not sure what made me say “yes” to trying again in 2017, but I’m so glad I did. God has answered many prayers through the people of TVC. I have been challenged and discipled and loved and encouraged throughout my time here.
If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
“A person is a person, no matter how small.” It’s important to hear a child’s voice, to not minimize their thoughts and feelings, and to recognize they are a whole person made in God’s image and respect that.
If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
I’m doing it (and MORE)! I wanted to be a mom and to teach.
Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
The mom on Bluey. I never thought I’d relate to a fictional dog, but she finds joy in small things, can laugh at herself, doesn’t sweat the small stuff, really listens to her kids, and is honest about ways she has struggled.
Favorite Hobby:
Watching football (although my boys don’t give me much of a choice), strategy games
