TVC Responsibilities:
I work with Connections staff and Deacons to onboard, lead, care for, and equip both weekend and weekday Connection Volunteers. I oversee volunteer scheduling, onboarding processes, calendar coordination, and budget request submissions. I also manage key operational procedures, including safety and security protocols, weekend attendance tracking, baptism coordination, and service planning as needed.
When and how did the Lord save you?
I was raised in a Christian home and was taught about Jesus from a young age. It wasn't until I was 14 years old that I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. Our church was having its missions conference, and one of the speakers shared about an unreached people group who had heard about Jesus for the first time. Similarly, it was like I was hearing about who Jesus is for the first time. I was so convicted, and Jesus was calling me. I ignored it for a time. I went home and tried to sleep. I couldn't. I then went into my parents' room and told them I believed Christ was calling me to be saved. My mother responded, “You know what to do. Just ask Him, Kelsea.” I repented of my sins and asked Christ to be my Lord and Savior, and was baptized that weekend.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
My husband and I started attending TVC about four years ago. When I was in college, I was part of a home group at my local church, and many of our sessions included studying and watching sermons by Pastor Matt Chandler and The Village Church. These teachings had a huge impact on my faith, and when we moved within 20 minutes of TVC, we knew without a doubt that this was the church we wanted to be part of.
If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
It would be about how CrossFit has transformed more than just my body—it’s shaped my mindset, my confidence, and how I show up as a mom. I’d talk about the power of doing hard things, the value of community, and how carving out time for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential.
If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
I wanted to be a secretary, just like my mom. I remember pretending to answer phones and type on the keyboard, copying everything she did. I thought it was the coolest job in the world.
Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
I’d be friends with Michael Scott from The Office. Not because he’s the most emotionally mature person— he’s not —but because he’s endlessly entertaining, has a weirdly big heart, and would remind me to never take life too seriously.
