Kim Spence

Deacon of Ushers

TVC Responsibilities:
I support our Connections Ministry by caring for and recruiting for our ushers.

When and how did the Lord save you?
I was the kiddo who always was at church. I felt the Lord moving in me at an early age, but when I was 13, I was with a friend and her family at their church revival. I went down to the altar and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior publicly. I was baptized again to reaffirm my faith after Jay and I were married and joined a Baptist church. I’ve been a “work in progress” ever since!

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
Jay and I started visiting TVC in the fall of 2011. We were members at another church but knew we needed to find a new church home. After a difficult season, we made the decision to start looking for a new church home. As sad as we were, now that we can look back, we see how the Lord was moving us. We had become stagnant there and not growing in our faith.

If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
To encourage others to seek to know the Lord personally and that each person’s interaction with Him is unique and different. That’s how amazing He is! He truly loves us for who we are, which is not like anyone else.

If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
Veterinarian

Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
Clifford the Big, Red Dog—it’s the 1st grade teacher still in me! He is so big and awkward but he has the biggest heart, always wanting to learn and do what is right.

Crafting, painting furniture
