Students Resident

Also known as:
Josiah

TVC Responsibilities:
I work to foster a vibrant and inviting atmosphere within our Student Ministry, providing discipleship, leadership, and contribution to the overall growth of our Student Ministry.

When and how did the Lord save you?
I have two Christ-loving parents. I was raised in the church. I was inside the church as often as possible. As a young kid, I was baptized because I felt the need to (since everyone else was doing it). However, a couple of years later, I better understood the weight of my sin and the magnitude of Christ's sacrifice and resurrection over the believer's sin. I finally understood the gift of grace and why Christ did what He did. Ever since that conversation with my parents in April 2012, the Lord continues to use His Spirit within me to sanctify and mold me into looking more like Him.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
I've been following the church since 2019, but my wife and I relocated and started attending in June 2025, following my acceptance into the Residency Program.

If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
"The Pickle-Delusion: How this Crunchy Monstrocity has Destroyed Flavors and is Ruining the Food we Love." I think my opinion on pickles and the dire need to rid their horrid flavor from leeching into all meals and sandwiches is expressed decently in my TED Talk title.

If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
Astronaut, minus all the physics I'd have to study. That'd be awesome.

Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
I think I'd mesh well with Luigi. He seems like a low-key guy who is funny and loyal. Plus, I just think it'd be helpful to be close to a tradesman/plumber.

Favorite Hobby:
Conversing over a cup of coffee (or doing any logic problem/puzzle)
