Life Story

I grew up in the Fort Worth area, and my family attended church every time the doors were open. Biblical memorization and gospel knowledge saturated my head, but that’s where it stopped. I could tell you all 66 books of the Bible at the age of 6, but I couldn’t explain why I got to go to heaven because Jesus died on a cross.

While attending Abilene Christian University, I started going to a weekly bible study. The Holy Spirit began to reveal Himself, and I was wooed into deeper waters. The depth of my sin was, and still continues to be, uprooted by the Lord.

My heart has been transformed, not because of the head knowledge of the gospel, but because of the unfailing love that is the Father, the wrath absorbing Christ and the tenacious pursuit of the Holy Spirit. I knew it wasn’t about getting heaven: It was about getting God.

God began to put me into situations with a guitar in hand, and I quickly fell in love with worshiping the Lord. After college I moved to Dallas, and my wife and I began attending The Village. I served on the worship team at the Highland Village campus and then moved to the Dallas campus when it opened.

I am excited about what the Lord has in store for the Fort Worth campus and cannot wait to ferociously pursue Him with the body of believers there.

Hope for The Village Church

My hope for The Village is that we would walk in a humble posture before the Lord, praising and celebrating Him for who He is and what He has done, and push back darkness by making disciples of all nations for His glory.
