Adam Crawford

Worship Minister

Life Story

Although I grew up in a broken home, my mom made church a priority in our family. I’m so thankful for her and the resolve she had with her children. When I was 13 years old, Jesus saved me at a Sunday morning worship service. I knew God was calling me to Himself and claiming me as His own. From that point on, I followed Jesus.

My main struggle has always been self-righteousness. I was a “good” kid; I obeyed rules. I never drank, partied or got involved with the wrong crowd. But all of my “righteous” acts stemmed from my hope that people would see me and praise me for how good I was. Jesus saved me, and He taught me that even my best deeds were not good enough. Only Jesus’ perfect life and death on the cross could save me.

A couple of years after I met Jesus, I was asked to lead worship at our Wednesday youth gathering. I barely knew how to play the guitar, but my youth minister believed in me and discipled me along the way. I felt God calling me into ministry and surrendered my life to serving Jesus and His church, and He has been so faithful.

After graduating high school, the Lord in His kindness provided me with a music scholarship at East Texas Baptist University. I married my high school sweetheart in college, and 15 years later, I still can't wait to see her every morning. I have learned that true growth in Jesus is an ever deeper realization of how sinful I am and how holy He is. I love Jesus, I love His church and my whole life is owed to Him.

Hope for The Village Church

My hope for The Village is that the name of Jesus would go far and wide from our midst, that many would be saved and many disciples would be made through His work in and among us.
